Spring is in the air. It’s the time of year when everything is in bloom, seasonal allergies are starting to become a problem, mowing season is beginning, and the weather is finally warming up all over the US. While this means tank top and flip flop season is upon us, it also means the air will soon be filled with the fragrant aroma of grilled meats. That’s because grilling season is officially here.
Sure, you could spend from now until early October grilling nothing but burgers, sausages, and hot dogs and you’ll probably be reasonably content, but you’re really doing grilling season wrong if you don’t throw a slab of meat on there from time to time.
It should be noted that while there are many cuts of meat perfectly suited for backyard grilling, not all cuts of meat are created equal. There are many that really have no place on a grill. While we won’t be referencing these various stew meats and tough, stringy cuts, today we’re going to be writing about the best, juiciest cuts of beef to grill this spring and summer. Keep scrolling to learn what you should stock up on this year.

6. Tenderloin Steak
Also known as filet mignon, a nice cut of this aptly named steak is extremely easy to cook and is known for its extremely tender, buttery, juicy texture. If you can afford it, it’s tough to beat.

5. Pork Chops
Pork chops are a great choice for grilling. They’re best marinated and with the bone-in so they don’t dry out as much. If done right, they’ll be tender, flavorful, and the perfect accompaniment to grilled vegetables.

4. T-Bone Steak
This is more than just the nickname George Costanza hoped for in an episode of Seinfeld. It’s a bone-in steak that’s slightly smaller than a Porterhouse, but is still tender, juicy, and perfect for grilling.

3. Pork Tenderloin
One of the best cuts of meat for grilling (especially if you’re feeding a crowd), a nice, marinated pork tenderloin is less fatty than some red meat while still remaining tender and juicy if grilled properly.

2. Strip Steak
Another steak that’s very difficult to mess up even if you’re not a seasoned grill master is the strip steak. As long as you don’t leave it on there until it resembles a hockey puck, it will be juicy, tender, and, as a bonus, it’s leaner than some of the other popular cuts.

1. Porterhouse Steak
Don't get scared off of the fat and marbling because that’s where the flavor comes from. This is especially true with a Porterhouse steak. As a bonus, you get both a strip and a tenderloin steak when you throw this succulent, juicy bad boy on your grill.
