Throughout each year we are teased with “leaked images” of what the next iPhone will look like, and this year has been no different. So when Taiwanese star Jimmy Lin posted photographs of him allegedly posing with two iPhone 6’s, we were skeptical to say the least. However, the Hong Kong media has claimed that Lin is telling the truth, and that he really has got his hands on beta models of Apple’s unannounced smartphone.

According to SteveNotes, Apple employees have been quoted as saying that the above image really does give us our first look at the iPhone 6, as the company has reportedly sent a number of beta handsets to various companies and individuals. The Apple employees also reportedly stated that the new device will boast a QHD display, meaning that the rumored 5.5-inch model of the phone is now looking more likely than ever, given how it would be difficult to fit such a screen on a smaller device.
We’re not very knowledgeable when it comes to how trustworthy these particular Hong Kong media outlets are, but Jimmy Lin was sent an iPhone 5 before it had been announced, too, so as far as sources go he’s relatively trustworthy. We’ll have to wait until later in the year to find out whether or not he was pulling the wool over our eyes.
