Bounce Your Grad an Easy Meatball Recipe

If you don’t want the grad in your life to knock fast food three times a day, it’s a good idea to start encouraging him or her to cook. The best way to help make that happen is to provide some simple, comfort food recipes to pass along  dishes that encourage home cooking.

These great tasting meatballs are just such a recipe. They can be served over rice or noodles or on sub rolls. Make smaller meatballs for appetizers.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup dried minced onion
  • 2 tsps garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 8 oz block of mozzarella cheese
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 2 jars (28 oz each) pizza sauce

PreparationIn a bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients just until mixed. Shape into 48 small meatballs. Cut cheese into 48 cubes, 1/2 inch each. Push a cube into the center of each meatball, covering the cheese completely. Roll in flour.

In a large fry pan, cook the meatballs in oil until brown; drain. Add the pizza sauce; bring to boil. Reduce the heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until meatballs are no longer pink.
