You’ve probably heard the song. It’s pretty prominent in western culture. It’s first line can pop up when people are debating directions:
You’ll take the high road,
And I’ll take the low road.
And I’ll be in Scotland before ye.
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonny, bonny banks of Loch Lomond.
The reason that song exists is the simple fact that Loch Lomond remains perhaps the most beautiful spot in Scotland. Situated at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands in the surrounding Trossachs National Park, the region is famed for its magical beauty. I discounted all of that as romanticized PR – until I reached the banks of the loch during a light rain shower to find a rainbow waiting to greet me.
I’ll be presenting a review of Cameron House Hotel on the Loch, as well as a look at The Carrick Golf Course nearby. For now, here are few images captured along the Loch during my Scotland coverage.
