Samsung Launches Embarrassing Ad Campaign Against Apple’s iPhone 6

Samsung appears to be very irritated by Apple’s iPhone 6 and Apple Watch announcements, as evidenced by its new, ill-advised ‘It Doesn’t Take a Genius’ ad campaign.

The ad campaign sees two obnoxious actors parodying Apple employees at the time of Apple’s live event, poking fun at the seemingly derivative nature of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and the uselessness of the Apple Watch.

However, given that Samsung have only just announced the Galaxy Note 4, which boasts a 5.7-inch screen, and the Gear S, which is also a smartwatch, the ad campaign is more than a little baffling.

It’s also remarkably juvenile, bringing to mind the “Genesis Does What Nintendon’t” commercials from the ’90s, which saw Sega attempting to undermine Nintendo’s SNES by repeatedly stating how much “cooler” the Genesis was. However, those commercials were targeted at kids, and these commercials are presumably targeted towards adults. To put it lightly, they make Samsung look very silly indeed.
