Apple’s iPhone 6 Supply will Struggle to Meet Demand

Apple’s iPhone 6 is already breaking sales records for the company, as its latest smartphone has had more pre-orders than any other iPhone to date. However, this means that many will get their hands on the new devices in October rather than on its September 19th release date, as the company struggles to meet the high level of demand.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have received 4 million pre-orders, though Apple hasn’t revealed which model of the upcoming smartphone received the most interest. This has surpassed the number of pre-orders for previous iPhones, and is well on its way to beating the sales of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, which sold 9 million units within the first weekend both devices went on sale.

“Demand for the new iPhones exceeds the initial pre-order supply,” Apple revealed in a statement on Monday (September 15th). “While a significant amount will be delivered to customers beginning on Friday and throughout September, many iPhone pre-orders are scheduled to be delivered in October.”

So as expected, Apple will struggle to match supply with demand when it comes to the iPhone 6, and those who pre-ordered the phone may receive it in October rather than its September 19th release date.
