Apple has revealed that it will be bringing its Apple Pay service to the UK starting next month, with the majority of the big name banks on board with the contactless payment system.

Apple stated that Pay would be making its way across the Atlantic starting in July, with a number of banks and retailers supporting the system at launch. The likes of Lloyds, Natwest, Bank of Scotland, Nationwide and HSBC will immediately carry the new system, while retailers and high street shops such as Costa, Lidl, M&S, McDonald’s and Waitrose will allow users to purchase products using the new iOS feature.
The rollout in the UK is significantly larger than the initial launch of the service in the US, meaning that the system could eventually prove to be useful rather than a tacked-on feature iOS users will rarely utilize.
Apple Pay will be rolled out in over 250,000 locations, allowing UK users to make payments using the iOS NFC communications system for the very first time. There was no exact release date given by the company, though expect it to land sometime in late July.
