INSPIRED | BTS: April Roomet

Celebrity wardrobe stylist and designer April Roomet was born and raised in a West Philadelphia neighborhood known as “The Bottom,” but ever since her teens, she’s been moving on up. After moving to Los Angeles and working as an extra on the Fresh Prince Of Bel Air, Roomet was quickly noticed for her personal style.

Her big break came styling hip hop legends Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Snoop Dogg, and from that point on, the opportunities to stylistically collaborate and innovate started rolling in. After 20 years in the industry,  Roomet is known fro signature mix of vintage and high fashion, and responsible for dressing the likes of Nas and Big Sean.

We were lucky enough to sit down with Roomet for a heart-to-heart that spans her inspirations (her father), her motivations (her son), and her motto: “A Good Look Can Make Or Break You.”

Here’s some behind the scenes photos from the daylong shoot, that took the talented Ms. Roomet and our creative crew across L.A., from the wardrobe-rich halls of Palace Costume to the contemporary fashion mecca, Traffic
