N.Y. Collections | Public School S/S16

Each year the fashion world is eager to witness the newest collection presented by Public School. Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne continuously create streetwear that is innovative and effortlessly cool.

This year the duo continued their trend of using a culturally diverse group of models, including fashion icon Nick Wooster, jeweler and actor Waris Ahluwalia, and musician George Lewis Jr. All twenty-something looks were placed against a faux police lineup, which created a bold viewing experience.

Slightly over-sized suits with shorts, tunics, and baseball caps were presented, also incorporating plaids – a popular trend Spring/Summer looks. Bombers and sleeveless utility trenches were paired with plaid elongated shirts, while baseball jerseys used windowpane plaid.

Overall, the collection maintained a muted color scheme with strictly black, blue, and white. All though the colors seem limiting, the clothing offered depth and versatility. Regardless, if you are looking to improve your street cred, then Public School will score you major points.
