There’s nothing that can make you consider just how deeply insignificant your life is than spending 10 minutes on Google Earth and appreciating our planet from a bird’s eye perspective, and now Google has decided to turn the most beautiful images of Earth into a selection of high-resolution desktop and mobile wallpapers with its Google Earth View site.
Google Earth View allows users to click through a slideshow of images captured in Google Earth that offer a unique look at the world, with the results being frequently stunning and perfect fodder for your desktop/mobile wallpaper.
You can also add Earth View as a Chrome extension, with it providing you with a new image from Google Earth every time you open up a new tab. You can also access it in Leanback Mode which provides a rolling slideshow of all the images featured o n the site.
A description of the new feature penned by Google reads: “Earth View is a collection of the most striking and enigmatic landscapes available in Google Earth. The colors, shapes, textures and patterns all contribute to the strange beauty of our planet, reminding us of nature’s uncanny geometry and bewildering simplicity.”
