Apple Confirms Existence of iPad Pro Freezing Errors

Apple has made a post on its support page confirming the existence of the reported iPad Pro freezing errors, in which the device is said to stop responding after being put on charge. 

The issue, which was noted by online forum users, can reportedly only be rectified through a hard reset, but it has been claimed that even then the tablet fails to respond correctly to commands. Some users have reported that the problem has presented itself on multiple occasions with their new device, though Apple has now stated that it is investigating the issue.

The post on the company’s support page reads: “Learn what to do if your iPad Pro doesn’t respond when you press buttons or tap on the screen, and the screen is black.” The post continues: “To get back to using your iPad Pro, force restart it by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.”

It isn’t yet known whether or not this is a software or hardware issue with the device. The same issue has also been reported with the company’s iPhone 6 product line, which suggests that it could be fixed using an iOS update, though it could also be a problem with hardware present in both devices. If this is the case, this would be a much larger issue and more troublesome for the company to rectify.

Apple has stated that the company will issue an update when they have learned more about the issue, and that they are currently working on a solution.
