A bright and elegant pop of red opened the Christopher Raeburn show and included an oversized knit scarf perfectly thrown around the models’ neck. This scarf, a staple in this season’s collection, made an appearance with a number of looks and was perfectly draped each time. It’s the kind of accessory a stylish guy who understands fashion would be proud to own. If his choice of the opening look wowed you, there was more from where that came from.

Known for his ability to re-purpose military fabrications sourced throughout Europe, Raeburn made sure this collected was jam packed with rustic references. Wide yarn knits, German raindrop camouflage and leopard offered a subtle walk on the wild side yet each piece was precisely made to fit with a more tailored look. Splashes of color mixed with basic and muted tones somewhat toned down the looks Raeburn usually sends down the runway which hints to the fact that he’s certainly grown up in the past five years that he’s been designing. This is definitely an exciting time for Raeburn since having cultivated retail partnerships with Harrods, Selfridges and Dover Street.
This season’s collection proves that the military trend is still alive, well and quite sought after. Men who see themselves as “urban explorers” would be in their comfort zone wearing Raeburn’s stope pipe jeans and his take on hiking boots. The anoraks, field jackets and parkas are all stylish, yet classic enough to attract any guy to the brand. At only 34 years old, Raeburn has delivered just enough of his quirkiness in this collection to add a few of the pieces to your “must haves” list for 2016. We’ll see if the oversized fanny pack makes the list.
