Connecting the world’s leading galleries with international collectors, curators and art professionals in the capital of the art world, The Armory Show welcomes over 200 galleries from 30 countries. The fair, which brings together two centuries of art from around the globe, will be held at Piers 92 and 94 on Manhattan’s west side from March 2-5, 2017.

Organized into five sections including Galleries, Insights, Presents, Focus, and Platform, this year’s edition of The Armory Show has something for everyone. Crave has put together a handy guide to the fair to prepare you for an incredible immersive experience in the art world.

Galleries
Spanning the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, the galleries featured at The Armory Show will provide you with everything you need to know about this years bests in contemporary and modern art. The fair includes Crave faves P.P.O.W., Galerie Nathalia Obadia, Paul Kasmin Gallery, Jack Shainman Gallery, Moran Bondaroff, Alison Jacques Gallery, Edwynn Houk Gallery, Howard Greenberg Gallery, and Jeffrey Deitch.

Insights
Dedicated exclusively to 20th century artworks, Insights focuses on solo artist, dual artist, and thematic presentations. Here, the fair spotlights canonical works of modernism and the post-war era, as well as overlooked gems and recent rediscoveries. We are delighted to see the return of Donald Ellis Gallery, which we spotlighted last year, showing a selection of Plains Indian art works made during the late nineteenth century. Other faves include Michael Hoppen Gallery and Mayoral.

Presents
Presents provides a platform for young galleries less than a decade old, to showcase recent work from new talents in an intimate and in-depth milieu. We’re looking forward to seeing works at Instituto de Visión, Mariane Ibrahim Gallery, El Apartamento, and Bodega, among others.

Focus
Every year, the Focus section presents the vision of an appointed curator, who shines a light on rarely seen work by today’s most relevant artists. Thus year Jarrett Gregory has organized 12 solo-artist presentations under the title What Is To Be Done?, examining the world’s most pressing social problems. We are excited to see what Sean Kelly and Rhona Hoffman Gallery have in store, as they have been consistently presenting some of the most dynamic emerging artists in the world.

Platform
Debuting at the 2017 fair, Platform presents large-scale artworks, installations, and site-specific commissions throughout Piers 92 and 94. Curated by Eric Shiner and titled An Incident, Platform presents 13 internationally acclaimed artists including the legendary Yayoi Kusama for Victoria Miro, Ai Weiwei for Galerie Forsblom, Douglas Coupland for Daniel Faria Gallery, and Iván Navarro for Paul Kasmin Gallery.

Armory Live
In partnership with Clocktower Productions, a radio station produced in collaboration with Pioneer Works, Brooklyn, Armory Live showcases a series of interactive talks, live events, and screenings hosted at the fair and online including a panel discussion on art in the digital age, an artist talk with David Salle, Glenn O’Brien in conversation with Jeffrey Deitch and Andy Spade, and conversations on collecting.

Directions: Piers 92 & 94 are located on Manhattan’s west side on the Hudson River (Twelfth Avenue) at 55th Street in the Passenger Ship Terminal complex. The piers are easily accessible by public transportation, taxi, and private vehicle. The nearest subway stop is four cross-town blocks east at 50th Street and Eighth Avenue.
