Prepare To Spend All Your Money As Vans Launch Retro Nintendo Themed Range

From this week on, fans of gaming and skating can finally bring their two great passions together as Vans and Nintendo team up to release a range of retro Nintendo themed shoes, The Vans x Nintendo Classic footwear line.

Sporting all the gaming company’s most famous classic characters like Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda and even Duck Hunt, the range is launching Friday 3rd June and will feature variations on Vans’ classic styles such as the Authentic, the Classic Slip-On and the Sk8-Hi, Old Skool and Sk8-Hi Slim.

It’s not just the characters from the games that are being emblazoned on these choice foot sheathes though with the lace-up styles including Nintendo game logos on the tongue and some super cool NES controller lace caplets.

Certain styles also feature prints of the classic controller as well some simple 8-bit pattern prints for anyone going for a more subtle nod to the Japanese gaming institution, but all of them have “Game over” printed on the waffle sole. They’ll be offering certain styles in children sizes with the range also including co-branded t-shirts, backpacks, bags, socks, and hats.

While the company hasn’t let slip any pricing info yet, you can be sure there will be a horde of pathetic ’90s fetishists snapping them up as soon as they hit shelves. On an unrelated note, I’ll be taking Friday off. Don’t judge me!
