Unsuspecting Finding Dory Audience Cops NSFW ‘Sausage Party’ Trailer By Mistake

Well, someone from the Brandon Cinema in the US town of Concord has for sure been fired. As a theatre full of young, supple minds prepared for the mis/adventures of Finding Dory, they were accidentally exposed to the harsh reality that is Seth Rogan’s twisted, NSFW imagination via the trailer for his animated comedy Sausage Party.

On paper, it’s an easy mistake – animated filmed, it’s all the same shit. But then again, considering it says Seth Rogan’s name, and then a bunch of other disproportional rude and adult only names like Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, James Franco…not to mention the list of inappropriate attributed films like This Is The End and Pineapple Express. Surely you’d think this employee saw some red flags.

Oh, that AND the hugely graphic and intense content. Telling the story of store-bought groceries with friggin’ faces realizing they are about to get eaten, and the fear that comes with said realization. Blood-curdling screams, stylized violence and sex jokes, it’s quite far removed from the universe of Finding Dory

Walter Eichinger, Vice-President of Operations for Brenden Theatre Corporation was having none of it, issuing the following statement to the Bay Area News & Talk:

Playing that trailer was a one-time honest mistake by a theater manager moving screens around in effort to accommodate several large last minute groups wanting to see Dory, the wrong movie was started by mistake,”

He actually went onto explain how it happened, which, tbh, fair ‘nough…

“Our movies are now started and stopped by computer and a click of a mouse. We moved a couple of screens to larger houses to accommodate some walk-up groups over a very, very busy Dory weekend. In the rush one hardworking manager clicked the wrong movie. It was caught soon but not until that trailer was played. We regret it, apologize for it and we are not happy that it happened. We fully realize that this trailer is not appropriate for Dory and we would never schedule something like that,”

Rogan, on the other hand…

No doubt some kids are going to grow up to be some cold motherfuckers, getting a hard and fast lesson in mortality when they just wanted to see some damn fish.

Sausage Party opens in Australia on Thursday, 11th August.
