Wolfenstein: The New Order will boast 1080p and 60fps graphics on both the PS4 and Xbox One, developer Bethesda has revealed.
It was previously speculated that the PS4 would once again feature a higher resolution, as it has done with many multiplatform titles thus far, but Bethesda dismissed this rumour in a statement made to GamingBolt, saying: “The Xbox One version of Wolfenstein will run at 1080p/60 fps.”
The most recent game to raise the ire of Xbox One owners was Thief, which sported higher graphics capabilities on Sony’s PS4 than it did on Microsoft’s new console. However, our Jonathan Leack believed that these higher graphics setting actually ruined the game’s performance on the PS4, stating that its framerate was much more inconsistent on Sony’s console than it was on the Xbox One.
As the resolution/framerate debate rages on, it’s a relief to see a game that shares the same graphical capabilities across both platforms, if only because it should ensure that we won’t have to hear this argument again.
