Roy Keane has slammed the current Manchester United squad as “weak” in his upcoming autobiography The Second Half.
The former United star has let loose in his autobiography on a whole range of topics, from his turbulent relationship with then-manager Alex Ferguson to his opinion on the club’s current struggling line-up.

The book, ghostwritten by Roddy Doyle, quotes Keane as saying: “I wonder about the current United dressing room. I look at the current players and they should be doing a lot better.
“Not liking a manager can never be an excuse for not going out and doing your best. Looking at what happened to David Moyes, I can only conclude that he didn’t have a strong dressing room. He had a weak dressing room.”
Keane also spoke of his horror tackle upon Manchester City’s Haaland during the Manchester derby back in 2001, which Haaland would later attribute to prematurely ending his career. The FA handed Keane a five-match ban and fined him £150,000 for the foul, though in his book he states that he has no sympathy for Haaland, who he shared animosity with after the midfielder accused him of play-acting during a match in 1997, in which Keane suffered a cruciate injury.
“I f****** hit him hard”, Keane said. “The ball was there, (I think) ‘take that you c***, and don’t ever stand over me sneering about fake injuries’.”
“There are things I regret in my life”, Keane added, “and he’s not one of them”.
