Fall 2014 was supposed to be overloaded with racing games, but the delay of two titles helped create some separation. One of those two games was Project Cars, the only title of the group to be pushed to 2015. Although it was given some extra development time to avoid a troubled release, it wasn’t enough.
Bandai Namco has confirmed via a news post that Project Cars is now destined for an April 2nd release, meaning that the game has been delayed only a mere two weeks.
Head of Slightly Mad Studios Ian Bell had the following to say about the news:
Moving a release date was not an easy decision to make, as we know our fans are eager to get their hands-on on Project CARS, but we know that these extra days will allow us to provide the best game experience that our fans deserve. We assure you the wait will be worth it when the game does arrive early April.
If anything, this could be a direct result of consumer lash back of several unpolished games that released in 2014 (i.e. Driveclub and Assassin’s Creed: Unity). Publishers and developers saw first hand how significantly releasing an unfinished game can damage its reputation.

Project Cars stands as the only major racing game during the first half of 2015. It’s a racing simulator that was crowd-funded, and has gained a reputation from its early demo clients as being true to the spirit of racing with highly-simulative physics and outstanding visuals.
