Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence Are Writing a Comedy Together

When we saw Winter’s Bone, we knew Jennifer Lawrence was talented. When we saw American Hustle, we knew she could be hilarious. When we saw Amy Schumer’s standup, we knew she was funny, and when we saw Trainwreck, we knew she could headline a movie. It’s been recently reported by The Mirror that these two have become fast friends, as well as jetski-riding human pyramid buddies, which may have led to some exciting news: Schumer and Lawrence are, according to Indiewire, writing a comedy screenplay together. Their relationship began when Lawrence began contacting Schumer about how good she thought Trainwreck was.

Schumer has written numerous TV episodes, including her own Inside Amy Schumer, which she also produces. Lawrence has no writing credits to her name as yet. As yet, little has been revealed about the screenplay other than Schumer and Lawrence will play sisters, that Schumer’s real-life sister Kim Caramele is also co-writing, and that it is indeed a comedy.

Comedienne screenwriters are an unfortunate rarity in Hollywood, so we look forward to this with enthusiasm. More details on this film as they progress.
