Noah Hawley Reveals ‘Fargo’ Season 2 Details

During “Fargo” Season 1, Lou Solverson (Keith Carradine) recalled a disturbing incident that took place in Sioux Falls during his tense encounter with Lorne Malvo (Billy Bob Thornton). Next year, “Fargo” fans will get to see what happened in Sioux Falls for themselves.

Earlier today at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, FX officially announced the renewal of “Fargo” for a ten episode second season. And at the “Fargo” panel (via Hitfix) writer and executive producer Noah Hawley confirmed that the second season will tie into the first through a younger Lou, his wife and a four year old Molly Solverson, who was previously portrayed by Emmy nominee Allison Tolman.

According to Hawley, “Fargo” Season 2 will take place in 1979 when Lou was 33 years old and recently returned from Vietnam. The multiple stories of the season will unfold in the towns of Fargo, Luverne and Sioux Falls.

Hawley went on to hint that the new season would be influenced by the Fargo feature film, Miller’s Crossing and The Man Who Wasn’t There.

“Fargo” executive producer Warren Littlefield also added that “What’s exciting is not having those boundaries or rules… Hopefully what was exciting about watching that first season was not being able to predict [what would happen]. I think the most important element to our DNA is tone.”

At the TCA panel, FX also reconfirmed that “Fargo” Season 2 isn’t likely to premiere before Fall 2015.
