Turn 10 Studios uploaded a little surprise to its YouTube channel earlier today, in the form of a launch trailer for Forza Horizon 2. I’m no Forza junkie myself, but launch trailers when you are incredibly excited for the game in question are one of most elating hype-inducers out there. Trust me, I watched Mario Kart 8‘s launch trailer at least 20 times. I can relate.
Horizon 2‘s launch trailer is a bit more understated than that of its distant kart racing cousin, and the video’s mood is a smart call; the game looks categorically gorgeous. Of course, you won’t be treated to quite as much of a visual feast if you opt for the Xbox 360 version of the game (the trailer footage here is derived from the Xbox One edition), but it will certainly look nice in a general sense either way.

Forza Horizon 2 revealed its full car list just the other day, which includes 210 vehicles painstakingly crafted from the ground up for the game. Well, I’m assuming it was painstaking; the toy airplane I tackled for my college 3D modeling course took nearly a week, and that was composed of extremely basic shapes. It also came out horrible. This stuff is probably a bit easier for pros who know what they’re doing.
The game is set to release later this month on September 30th, so keep your eyes open for our review as that date draws close. In the meantime, it may not be a bad idea to check out the original game, which can be had for twenty-five bucks on Amazon, or just put the launch trailer on loop for a few hours. I won’t judge, I’ve done the same thing.
