Grilling and yard game season is upon us, and the only thing better than classic yard games like lawn darts or horseshoes is playing them with a beer in hand. Just try to stay upright and not injure anyone while playing. Or drink every time someone falls down. Your call.
Check out our list of the best yard games to pair with your favorite brews.

Yard Games Beer
Bocce
This might be the easiest yard game ever conceived. You can learn how to play in the time it takes you to crack open another beer. Throw the pallino, take turns throwing your balls in hopes of getting yours as close as possible, drink beer. Simple.

Croquet
Croquet is truly a gentleman’s (and gentlewoman's) game. Just holding a mallet and knocking your ball through a wicket makes you feel like an old-timey oil baron or some kind of captain of industry. It’s a game so fancy it begs to be knocked down a peg or two by holding a beer in one hand and the mallet in the other.

Horseshoes
There actually might be a rule that says that you can’t play horseshoes without a beer to sip on between throws. Whether this is true or not, we say this game consisting of literally throwing horseshoes onto a metal spike 40 feet away can only be made better with the addition of beer.

Ladder Ball
Sometimes this game is referred to as "horse balls" and one look at the balls attached by a string and you’ll understand why. Throw your bolos at the ladder. Top shelf nets you three points, the middle rung will get you two, and the bottom gets you one point. Even if you overthrow every time, you can still sip on your favorite beer while you completely embarrass yourself due to your lack of coordination.

Lawn Darts
Obviously, lawn darts were a lot more fun in the ‘80s when the darts had sharp tips that gave the game a little sense of danger. It’s still fun now that the darts are weighted with blunt ends even though there’s no potential of impaling your daydreaming friends who are more concerned with their beer than the game at hand.

KanJam
If you like playing with a Frisbee as well as slam dunking things into garbage cans, then KanJam is for you. The only real problem with this game is that it requires two hands, so you won’t actually be able to drink during much of the action. That is, unless you want to end up with a beer spilled all over your shirt.
