There are countless beer brands in the US with more and more popping up every week. There are more than 9,000 breweries operating in the country. That’s a staggering large number. It might seem like there’s no room for anymore, especially a new celebrity brand. Well, you might be right but that didn’t stop NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman from launching his own brand. The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback just dropped Eight Elite Lager.

He announced the beer on his Instagram account back on January 4, posting a video in which he talked about how life is multi-faceted. While he believes in fitness and living a healthy lifestyle, he also believes that life’s “special moments” deserve to be celebrated with a beer. We couldn’t agree more.

The Super Bowl-winning quarterback had been hinting about the two-year-old project for months on his social media accounts and finally let the world in on what he was working on. Eight Elite Light Lager, which gets its name from the former NFL player’s jersey number, is a low-calorie, low-carbohydrate beer that was created with the help of Oregon State University’s Food Science and Technology Department.

While you might be stoked to try this 90 calorie, 2.6 carbs for yourself, you’ll have to visit Texas to try it at various bars and restaurants beginning in February. When it will be available nationwide hasn’t been announced yet. In the meantime, just stick to your Coors Light.
