Drinking Any Alcohol Bad For Your Health, Says Terrible New Report We Plan to Ignore

Take a few moments and type the words “alcohol study” into a search engine. You’ll find a ton of different studies proving and disproving each other over and over again like the proverbial snake eating its own tail. Red wine is good for your heart. Red wine will kill you. A sip of alcohol per day is good for your health. Any alcohol will lead to a shorter life. It’s difficult to determine which to actually believe. This brings us to one of the most recent reports that we definitely don’t want to believe. Even though experts say we should.

Apparently, drinking literally any alcohol at all is bad for your heart. While this is good news for sober and teetotalling friends, this is bad news for fans of whiskey, rum, gin, and a nice, tall pint of frosty beer.

According to the World Heart Federation, there is literally no level of alcohol consumption that is good for your health. This (literally) sobering news came from a policy brief earlier this week.

“At the World Heart Federation, we decided that it was imperative that we speak up about alcohol and the damages to health, as well as the social and economic harms, because there is an impression in the population in general, and even among health care professionals, that it is good for the heart,” Beatriz Champagne, chair of the advocacy committee said in a statement.

While this is bad news for us booze fans, the only positive is that experts quickly pointed out other studies that prove otherwise. While we don’t have any time to track down these other reports, we’ll just pretend we didn’t see this one and continue to enjoy a nice glass of bourbon or rye from time to time. Not too much though.
