If you’re a fan of peanut butter, there’s a good chance you enjoy spreading Jif products on your toast or paired with jelly in a classic PB and J. Well, we have some bad news for you. The J.M. Smucker Company (which owns Jif) has issued a recall for Jif-brand peanut butter products because of the potential of Salmonella bacteria.
For those unaware, Salmonella can cause nausea, and diarrhea, and can even make you so sick you end up in the hospital. In the simplest terms, it’s bad and you definitely don’t want to eat any of Jif’s crunchy, creamy, natural, or no-sugar-added peanut butter that might contain this bacteria.
So what’s a sandwich lover to do? Well, luckily, there are other options out there — and we’re not just talking about peanut butter, either. There are myriad other spreads that are so delectable and delicious that you might not even want to go back to Jif after this. Keep reading to see eight of our favorites.
