Marilyn Monroe once said that all she wears to bed is a drop of perfume. Well now you can wear a suit covered in her face with Dries Van Noten spring summer 2016 collection. The collection was vibrant both with Ms. Monroe’s face, but also with lobster appliques, palm tree patterns, and a hint of cheetah.

The first look down the runway set the tone for the show; Ms. Monroe’s face on a shirt, a cheetah trench coat, and cinched pants. Throughout the show her face was used on sweaters, pants, ponchos, suits, and a tank top. Along with Ms. Monroe, the cheetah print was reminiscent of the golden era of Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard. The print used hues of reds, deep blues, and grays that fitted perfectly with the color scheme of the collection.
Tossed in the mix of prints were lobster appliques on various garments. The collection as a whole was pattern heavy, but overall appealing, nostalgic, and fun, like a trip to a bygone era of Tinseltown.
